From June 20 – August 26, 2016, Theatricum’s Alumni Development Intern (ADI) will work under the supervision of Development Director Joy Kliewer, Academy Director Susan Angelo and Education Director/Grants Manager Elizabeth Tobias to conduct research and outreach with the goal of bringing locating and tracking the contact and professional data of the organization’s Academy and Repertory Alumni.
Throughout the internship, the ADI will be introduced to Theatricum’s staff and become familiar with the organization’s diverse, high-quality programs and the clients they serve. This will be achieved both through person-person meetings with department heads and hands on experience and observation. The ADI will then be trained on Theatricum’s Patron Manager CRM database system – a system used by many Los Angeles Stage Alliance member organizations to track attendees, donors and clients. The intern will work side by side with his/her supervisors, as well as other key Theatricum staff to research, track, and make contact with Theatricum’s Alumni as well as organizing various events to encourage Alumni to reconnect with the organization.
By the close of this intensive internship, not only will Theatricum’s Alumni Development Intern have gained intimate knowledge of one of Los Angeles' most enduring theatre companies, (s)he will have also gained hands-on experience in many aspects of non-profit development and community outreach, enabling him/her to list skills on his/her resume that are highly marketable throughout the non-profit sector.
