We know the passion of artists and activists committed to change is a powerful force. More than ever before, we need creative ways to lift up human stories, and to stand with human rights defenders the world over to tell the world the truth.
In this spirit, we are delighted to present Art for Rights, a partnership between Arts for LA, Amnesty International, and the Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network.
Art for Rights focuses on harnessing the creative power of visual artists to shine light on and elevate the 12 cases of the Write for Rights Campaign. The 3-day art pop-up in the world famous Container Yard in downtown Los Angeles will see the creation of 12 original 5’ x 8’ murals, the curation of an installations on the current refugee crisis, a high profile visual arts competition hosted by Secret Walls, and a series of curated discussions around our human rights work and the arts. All events are free and open to the public, though space is limited. The Container Yard is located at 800 E 4th Street Los Angeles, CA 90013.
