California Assembly Member Karnette (D-54) has introduced another bill that proposes to fund the California Arts Council by transfering 20% of the sales tax generated by the sale of arts-related purchases at a time when the General Fund has acheived an ongoing structural balance.  AB2728 must pass the Assembly Appropriations Committee on May 7th to stay alive. California Arts Advocates is advocating fiercely for the passage of AB2728.  They are urging stakeholders to fax letters to Ms. Karnette at (916) 319-2181.
