Update on Arts Education Teams: Community Discussions & Workshops
As the Advocacy Manager of Arts for LA, I am tasked with reaching out to grassroots stakeholders, connecting with local leadership, establishing networks of arts advocates and creating a plan of action to increase support for and access to the arts. This year, we are taking the team initiative to seven additional communities. Here is an update on that process.
Discover the Arts Kick-Off, 1/31
Discover the Arts is Los Angeles' collaborative arts campaign to celebrate the city's rich cultural assets. The fourth annual program kicks off on Tuesday, January 31st with a special press conference at the Music Center, featuring a performance by Ozomatli, a speech by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and performances & exhibitions from several Los Angeles arts organizations. A Series of Community Discussions and Workshops
Communities across LA County are working collaboratively to ensure that all students have access to the arts. Join us to develop our shared vision for arts education in your community, discuss current efforts, learn effective advocacy strategies, and develop a community plan to increase access to the arts.
Parent, artists, educators and other stakeholders interested in supporting and promoting arts education are invited to attend.
2011 LA Convergence Report-Out
Nearly 200 arts advocates converged at The Music Center: Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County to discuss the state of the arts and its role in creating a vibrant community.
Long Beach Advocacy Workshop Series
