Ceramics Studio Attendant
The City of Manhattan Beach Parks and Rec Department is looking to hire a part time Ceramics Studio Attendant for the Manhattan Beach Ceramics Studio at Live Oak Park.
10-20 hours per week, must be able to work nights and/or weekends
The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking a part time Ceramics Studio Attendant to join our team.
This can be a perfect job for a student interested in ceramics, sculpture or other fine art.
The right candidate should be friendly and personable and be able to perform the following duties:
Open and close the Ceramics Studio and ensure student and facility safety during Open Lab hours
Open Lab is a non-instructional time for students to work on their projects, the Studio Attendant will facilitate this time by opening and closing the rooms and interface with patrons
Maintain studio cleanliness and organization, clean tables, put away materials and supplies etc.
Provide visitors with information about the studio and classes
Assist at special events, Ceramics Open House, gallery openings, installations as needed
Light administrative duties such as answering phones, typing, filing etc. as needed
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time and occasionally lift objects up to 50lb
Previous experience and interest in ceramics, sculpture or fine art prefered
Will train the right candidate
