Description

The Community Engagement Intern will support the Engagement & Education Director with coordinating HDDT’s arts education and community programs, primarily focused on our partnership with LAUSD and our collaborative workshops with LA Opera. Responsibilities will include assisting with outreach and communication with partner schools, community centers and teaching artists and researching education programs in the field. The intern will also assist with clerical duties related to the arts education programs, database management and box office assistance at community programs and events.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Special skills:

  • Comfortable communicating with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
  • Mac and/or PC proficient
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
  • Event programming experience preferred but not required
  • Contemporary dance knowledge preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation

This internship is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. 179  undergraduate interns will participate in the program this year at 127 performing, presenting, and literary nonprofit arts organizations and municipal arts agencies throughout LA County. In addition to their full-time 10 week paid internship, interns will participate in educational events as part of the program, which is funded by the Getty Foundation. The educational events are designed to provide interns with a broader perspective of the vibrant arts and cultural landscape of the County.
