Job Title: Assistant Technical Director, The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance
Reports To: Dean of The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance & Technical Director
Supervises: Student crew positions/assignments

General Statement of Job Function: The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance is seeking an Assistant Technical Director who will work in partnership with the Technical Director to oversee all productions for the School of Dance and serve as an advisor to all technical aspects involving the Dance School. This faculty position is a temporary full-time ten month position with the possibility of renewal. The Assistant Technical Director will take part in the supervision of graduate student teaching assistants in the care, maintenance, and production of the School of Dance performance space, The Sharon Disney Lund Dance Theater.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach one section of Production for Dance (D207: Producing/Production Management and Stage Management) and assist in the teaching of two sections of Concepts in Lighting Design (D405)
• Co-instruct and manage assigned production crews for all School of Dance productions
• Co-train and manage Teaching Assistants and Crew Work-study students
• Assist in developing comprehensive build calendar for each production
• Help with purchasing and installation of equipment and technology for all of the instructional spaces (including the Lund Theater)
• Help research and install capital improvements to facilities
• Implementing Lighting and Scenic Designs, Rigging, and Light Construction
• Stay current with theater technology
• Supervise students clearly, safely, and educationally
• Interact with wide range of staff, students, faculty, and administration
• Travel to off-campus performances

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum BA in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years experience in technical theatre, with experience in Design, Electrics and Rigging
• Strong interest/background in Dance
• Have working knowledge of all aspects of theater production
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and supervise student crews
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge and experience of working with Digital Media and Excel spreadsheets
