The Organization: LA STAGE Alliance is a nonprofit arts service organization dedicated to building awareness, appreciation, and support for the performing arts in Greater Los Angeles. Since 1975, LA STAGE Alliance has worked to empower artists and engage audiences of Greater LA through a series of programs, events, and advocacy efforts. All of its initiatives aim to serve and strengthen the sector — both at an individual and community level. Specifically, LA STAGE Alliance provides resources that facilitate audience engagement, collaborative marketing, community building, and professional development.

Position Overview: LA STAGE Alliance is hiring a full time Executive Director to manage and oversee both the external and internal management of the organization's programs and activities including Membership, LA STAGE Tix ticketing services, the annual LA Ovation Awards, Arts Journalism Program, LA STAGE Day, LA STAGE Space and many other performing arts-related initiatives and activities in Greater Los Angeles.  The Executive Director articulates and executes the vision and strategic direction of LA STAGE Alliance.

Requirement Overview: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required and a Master’s Degree in an arts-related discipline is highly desired. A minimum of 10 years of experience working in Los Angeles-based arts organizations and/or nonprofits. Hands on experience in Development including grant writing and grants management.  Preference will be given to candidates with a strong fundraising background. Recent demonstrated experience in the successful management of an arts-based budget of between $500,000 and $1.5 million is also sought. The ideal candidate possesses human resources experience and managing a staff of between 5 and 10 persons as well as volunteers and interns

The Executive Director reports directly to the LA STAGE Alliance Board of Governors, which is responsible for the overall direction and financial oversight of the organization.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
