Dear Members of the Planning Committee –
The Arts for LA Board of Directors met on Thursday and had a chance to debrief about the June 30th event.
In addition to expressing their satisfaction with the event, they applauded the planning committee’s great stewardship. The Board also appointed Jessica Cusick to serve on the Committee and overwhelming supported a partnership opportunity with Otis.
The partnership will combine the launch of their Creative Economy Report with our convening. Although two separate events, the two will be presented in conjunction with each other. This is an exciting opportunity for both Arts for LA and Otis. However, given the events are just two months away, we need to get the ball rolling again.
Therefore, in preparation for our Oct. 1 event, we needed to schedule a planning committee meeting asap to discuss the following:
· Feedback received at June 30 meeting
· Revisions to Platform and Framework
· Invitation list for October 1 meeting
· Structure of October 1 meeting
We are going to need at least three hours to fully address each of these topics. Given the short timeframe, we need to meet sooner than later.
Of course it is August, and I know many of you are planning to take vacation. Therefore, please send your blackout dates to Dolores Chavez today for a meeting in the next two weeks. Once we hear back from everyone, we will set the date. Please block out three hours – preferably in the morning.
