Part Time Retail Sales Associate

Overview:

The MOCA Store Sales Associate provides customer service, completes sales transactions, maintains the physical appearances of stores, and completes opening and closing procedures. The Sales staff follows daily performance guidelines provided by management and are expected to work collegially as part of the Retail Operations Department.

Requirements:

  • Effective customer service-oriented interpersonal skills
  • Promptness and reliability are essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Prior retail experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of or interest in contemporary art preferred 

Essential functions:

  • Assist customers with selections, including answering inquiries and offering suggestions.
  • Operate Point of Sale cash registers to guarantee accurate financial transactions.
  • Maintain an organized store appearance through straightening and light cleaning; ensure store functionality through monitoring supplies.
  • Process paperwork for special orders and museum memberships.
  • Answer or direct questions from the public regarding the museum.
  • Helps to maintain appropriate merchandise levels by through restocking or requesting reorders.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of available books and products
  • Inventory counts to maintain correct levels.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.
