We are looking for an Assistant Gallery Manager in our TASCHEN Gallery in Los Angeles.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Represent the TASCHEN brand
  • Create an in-gallery experience that meets and exceeds expectations
  • Ensure the smooth running of the gallery
  • Maintain ongoing promotion and advertising of the gallery
  • Planning, organizing, presenting and marketing exhibitions and shows
  • Working closely with individual artists, developing relationships with new artists, and extending relationships with established artists
  • Curating shows in cooperation with artists and gallery manager
  • Arranging transportation of work to and from the gallery, both nationally and internationally
  • Organizing and ensuring correct installation of the artwork
  • Developing client lists by notifying potential clients of particular works and exhibitions, according to their stated interests
  • Extending the client database

Your profile:

  • Experience with fine art sales, preferably in a gallery.
  • Well connected in the Los Angeles art world
  • Client relations and client book experience
  • Passion about our unique and highly successful program and content
  • Interest and knowledge in art, architecture, fashion, photography, design, film, pop culture, and music.
  • Ability to sell to a high profile client base
  • Excellent written and polished personal presentation skills
  • Outgoing, solution-oriented, creative, internationally minded, enthusiastically self-starting, and flexible
  • Ability to connect with customers from all walks of life
