Graphic Designer - PMCA

The PMCA is looking for a creative individual to join our team as Graphic Designer on a contract basis. This person will be responsible for the design of a wide array of digital and printed materials that maintain the Museum’s established visual identity and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design exhibition-related collateral including: invitations, evites, rack cards, exhibition brochures, and press releases
  • Design onsite signage and graphics, including: front desk signage, building decal, donor wall, and other graphics as needed
  • Design web assets for social media, email campaigns, and website
  • Design internal documents for each department as needed
  • Follow Museum identity and design guidelines for all work

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once and facilitate timely proofing and production process in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate openly
  • Knowledge of best print practices, experience with online printers is a plus
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Mac computers
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Gmail/Google Apps

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts, or related MFA preferred
  • At least 2 years related experience, arts and culture sector preferred
  • Portfolio of previous projects

Additional Qualifications:

  • English, fluent in both spoken and written
  • Valid CA driver’s license

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Noise, such as groups of people working in enclosed areas
  • Typical office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
