LA_YV_1.pngArts for LA is excited to announce the launch of the second annual LA Youth Vote campaign, an initiative of the United Way in collaboration with the League of Women Voters, LAUSD, Mi Familia Vota, Arts for LA, SEIU Local 99, the LA County Registrar, Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez, and Secretary of State, Alex Padilla.

Last year the LA Youth Vote campaign was able to help over 3,000 eligible high school students register at 36 LAUSD high schools. This year, with the presidential election in the headlines, we hope to make the LA Youth Vote bigger and better. The Secretary of State and LA County Registrar now have a system to pre-register 16 and 17 year olds, creating an opportunity to engage more than just the Senior class.

This semester “High School Voter Education” weeks are April 18 – May 16 and we are looking for educators, community partners, and government officials who would be interested in partnering with us to host voter outreach and awareness drives on high school campuses.

If you know school sites that would be interested in participating in this campaign, please share the LA Youth Vote Interest Form link with them and have them register. Once they have registered the LA Youth Vote coordination team can reach out to them regarding next steps.  Participation in the campaign could be one day or all three of the High School Voter Education weeks
