The Art Program at CSU Channel Islands invites qualified applicants for a lecturer faculty position. The instructor appointed to this position will teach courses in Digital Filmmaking/Digital Video Production, as well as other possible film-related courses.
Located an hour north of Los Angeles where the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains meets the Pacific Ocean, the CI Art Program uniquely combines fine art, design, digital media, and art history, embracing a multidisciplinary approach to artistic and creative production. We have a preference for candidates who can energetically engage students with technical and conceptual content, and the ideal candidate will have the ability to bridge traditional and digital media.
Candidates with an MA or MFA in Film, Media, Digital Video, or closely field, from an accredited institution are encouraged to apply.
We are seeking someone with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level; positive student evaluations; understanding of the techniques associated with filmmaking (including sound and lighting); knowledge of editing software associated with video production; a body of work or background that includes narrative and/or documentary filmmaking, and an understanding of the history of cinema.
