#1 LIGHTING SUPERVISOR

Part-time, seasonal

Grand Performances, L.A.’s premiere free summer concert presenter, seeks a Lighting Supervisor to oversee all lighting and electrics in our one-of-a-kind outdoor venue. The Lighting Supervisor supports all events throughout the year in collaboration with other department heads and freelance technicians.

The 2016 Grand Performance season runs from June -August. This is a part-time, seasonal position.

Compensation based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation, hanging, connection and focusing of stage lighting fixtures, supervising all other stage electricians, and working with the production team for both professional and student programming.
  • Supervision, operation, inventory, repair and maintenance lighting inventory, multiple power distribution systems, dimmer systems and related servers, including all stage lighting fixtures, cables, effects, power distribution, networking and lighting control consoles
  • Organization and purchasing of all consumables including lamps, color gel, gobos, gaffer tape, etc.
  • Planning and implementation of the lighting power, signal cabling and electric power distribution for each production.
  • Documenting and tracking of all circuiting, addressing, patching and system configuration in collaboration with the production/event’s Lighting Designer
  • Ensure occupational safety and health of workers, and make other operational decisions, as the head of the Electrics department. Enforce safe work practices.
  • Manage, maintain, make recommendations for, and implement replacement, improvement and repairs to lighting and electrics inventory.
  • Cultivate, schedule and oversee a pool of technicians in order to meet production needs.
  • Experience with Dance, Theatre, Opera, Music and touring productions a plus.
  • Proficient in ETC COBALT programming, networking, basic moving light maintenance and programming.
  • Proficient with Vectorworks, Lightwright and related software packages.
  • Schedule will include nights and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience running a department and crew
• Able to think on your feet and manage multiple responsibilities at once
• Working nights and weekends
• Must be physically strong and able to stand and walk for a significant amount of time; must be able to lift up to 70lbs.

#2 PRODUCTION CREW

Part-time, seasonal

Grand Performances, L.A.’s premiere free summer concert presenter, seeks a Stage Production Crew with experience in stagecraft to staff productions in our one-of-a-kind outdoor venue. The 2016 Grand Performance season runs from June -August. This is a part-time, seasonal position. Compensation based on experience.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Setup, run and take down the required equipment based on the production needs for each
• Ability to trouble shoot basic audio, lighting, projection, stage machinery, and stage craft
• Ability to perform minor repairs and general maintenance of stage equipment in areas of
• Experience in multiple departments of Stagecraft a plus.
• Schedule will include nights and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience
• Able to think on your feet and manage multiple responsibilities at once
• Working nights and weekends
• Must be physically strong and able to stand and walk for a significant amount of time; must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
