City Council Committee to Discuss Public/Private Partnerships for City-Owned Cultural Facilities

The City Council's Arts, Parks, Health & Aging Committee has scheduled the Cultural Art Facilities issue for discussion at the meeting on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010.  The Committee will hear reports from the Chief Legislative Analyst and the Department of Cultural Affairs relative to the DCA's Request for Proposals to transition Cultural Art Facilities to Public-Private partnerships.  To download the Committee Agenda in PDF format, please click here.

The next agenda item relates to a motion from Councilwoman Hahn and Councilman LaBonge regarding the Cultural Facilities.  This motion, continued from 9-29-10, can be accessed by clicking here, and contains the following:

"I THEREFORE MOVE that the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) be authorized to release an RFP immediately to select a contractor to transition the following cultural art facilities to public-private partnerships, under the current DCA recommendations: Eagle Rock Community Cultural Center, Lankershim Arts Center, William Grant Still Ali Center, Madrid Theater, Warner Grand Theater, and Vision Theater."
