North County Campaign: Let the Voters Decide

38th district

Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and other northern LA County residents: Encourage your representative to let the voters decide on tax extensions during an especially difficult budget year for the state of California.  Click here to take action.

State Assemblyman Cameron Smyth (Republican, 38th District) represents Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Glendale and north Los Angeles in the California legislature.  Please customize and send this respectful message encouraging him to approve a June ballot measure that would let Californians decide whether to extend specific taxes.  The current state budget proposal includes billions of cuts to social services, including services for the developmentally disabled, welfare, early childhood health, mental health and in-home elder care.  Bringing the tax extensions to special election in June is the first step toward ensuring continuing funding for these and other essential programs statewide.

Governor Brown needs two Republicans in each branch of the Legislature to vote to bring the measure to the June ballot.  The 38th Assembly District can help make that a reality.  Smyth needs to hear from constituents who want the chance to vote on this important issue.
