Arts for LA Staff Camille Schenkkan, Danielle Brazell and Abe FloresApply now for a 10-week paid summer internship with Arts for LA through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission Arts Internship Program.

Arts for LA's Community Research Intern will work with Arts for LA staff to map arts education and cultural policy throughout Los Angeles County, and present this information on ArtsforLA.org. He/she will take on sections of the website, such as the job board and forums, and will learn how to use a set of web-based tech tools such as Democracy in Action. The Intern will also work with the Development & Operations Manager on membership, development and event planning.

The internship is designed to provide a thorough grounding in the activities and governance of an arts advocacy organization. 

We’re looking for someone passionate about arts/culture and arts education. Ideal candidates will identify with our mission and have deep interest in the intersection of arts, civic engagement and advocacy. Please spend time at www.ArtsforLA.org prior to applying. Excellent writing & communication skills are required; journalism experience is a plus, as is experience in advocacy, politics or voter participation activities. We prefer applicants who are comfortable with web tools, new media and computer programs such as Word and Excel.
