At the June 28th Budget & Finance Committee meeting, the committee briefly discussed the status of Request for Proposals for the proposed partnering of DCA facilities.

The City Administrative Officer informed the committee that the Arts, Parks, Health & Aging Committee had established a working group to finalize the RFP process for partnering DCA facilities over a 120 day period. The working group is still being formed and will be made up of representatives from Asset Management, Recreation and Parks and council offices where cultural facilities are located, primarily CDs 4, 8, 10, 14 and 15. The working group will function separately from DCA.

Committee Chairman Bernard Parks let the CAO know that the Council does not want RFPs where the City remains responsible for maintenance and operations. He asked that the RFP process ensure the responsibility will not be on the general fund for maintenance and operations of facilities. The CAO said she would share Parks’ request with the working group.

Arts for LA will continue to provide updates on this issue as information becomes available.
