Bareback III: Symmetry in Motion
An Equine Exhibition

2018 Annual Exhibition and Benefit Fund Raiser for Horses

Announcing Open Call for Artists

About Bareback III: Symmetry in Motion

Studio C Gallery is looking for artists, whose work is inspired by the horse.
Humankind owes a great debt to the horse. Domestication of the horse provided
humans with mobility, survival and sport. Yet today, horses are facing a daunting
challenge in survival, especially for wild mustangs. Yearly round-ups by the
Bureau of Land Management, kill buyers, horse racing breakdowns and drought
have left horses lives in peril.

As artists, we inspire our audience to take action, in paying homage to the horse.

About Studio C Gallery

Studio C Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting the work of women artists. We are
committed in bringing attention to the feminine characteristics and trademark of
art making. This is our focus. However, with this exhibition, we are also opening
this call to men. Our gallery is located within the Santa Fe Art Colony in
downtown Los Angeles, CA

Media

This exhibit has no predetermined expectation for type, style or media of work to
be considered for selected. Submissions can range fro the most traditional to the
most conceptual or experimental. We encourage that. The only criterion is that
the work interprets the theme of the show, Bareback ( wild, free ) Symmetry in
Motion ( grace in motion ) honoring the horse. All mediums are accepted,
including video, performance and installation.

Eligibility

Bareback III: Symmetry in Motion is open to all artists that reside in the Los
Angeles area and beyond our borders. We have had several participating artists
from abroad. All entries must represent original works of art. We do not accept
Giclee prints of original paintings.

Shipping to and from the gallery is the responsibility of the artist. It is highly
Recommended to insure your work in transit. If you are shipping your work from
other states or overseas, please make a special note of the Calendar dates
above, to make sure that your work arrives on time. It has been our experience
that the United States Postal Service is one of the most economical way of
shipping. However pack well and allow extra days for your work to get to the
gallery. Please ship Priority Air. Do not use Ground. It is not guaranteed on a
specific date. Please check their website for more information at: www.usps.com

The USPS will also insure work in transit.

Please avoid using UPS. We have had unusual problems with this carrier.
We do not recommend them.

The best way to ship is FedEx. It is more expensive but worth the expense.
We are always happy to discuss any questions you may have about shipping.
The gallery staff is committed to taking the best care of your work while it is with
us. All shipping materials are saved, labeled and stored. The artwork is re-
packed in a diligent manner, for return.

Studio C Gallery takes a 25% donation from art sales.
75% of sales goes directly to the artist.
However, since this is a benefit fund raiser, we suggest that each artist
make a donation ( from sales ) to one or both of our non-profit organizations that
are partnering with us for this event.
