In the fall of 2015, USC Kaufman enrolled its first cohort of BFA dance majors. USC Kaufman also offers a robust array of non-major and minor offerings in dance open to all USC students. The dance minor is designed to present undergraduate students with a focus on the discipline of dance as an educational tool for study and research, offering students an interdisciplinary experience compatible with a variety of majors. JOB DESCRIPTION 

The USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance invites applications for a fixed-term position as Part-Time Lecturer in Dance (Afro-Cuban) to provide specialized instruction in the area of Afro-Cuban contemporary and traditional dance forms for non-majors and majors. Experience teaching Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean and Latin dance practice and history is preferred. Knowledge and instructional experience desired in Rumba, Salsa, Salsa Rueda, Salsa Suelta, Son, and Cha Cha Cha. Experience in teaching dance history including AfroDiasporic, Latin Dance Studies, Jazz Dance, Hip Hop Dance or World Dance is preferred. Other fields of expertise could include teaching one of the following dance techniques: Jazz Dance, Tap Dance or Ballroom Dance. 

STARTING DATEAugust 16, 2017. This is a fixed term position for Fall 2017. Contract renewal is possible, but not guaranteed.
