Organization: Located in Little Tokyo, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) is a not-for-profit whose mission is to present and promote Japanese and Japanese American arts and culture to diverse audiences through its campus that includes office, meeting and gallery spaces, a theater and a plaza. For over 30 years, JACCC has produced and sponsored a wide variety of festivals, events and performances. www.jaccc.orgPosition Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Performing Arts and Community Engagement and in collaboration with the Aratani Theatre General Manager, the Production Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the Aratani Theatre’s Production Team in support of JACCC’s mission and artistic vision of the Aratani’s multi-disciplinary performing arts activities. The position is responsible for, but not limited to maintaining production schedules and budgets; generating technical estimates, production reports & client invoicing; hiring & supervision of all technical and running crews; ordering supplies and rental of equipment for production; coordinating rental and in-house production needs; and maintenance of the theatre’s equipment and facilities.

Interpersonal skills as well as technical production knowledge must be exceptional. S/he must independently initiate and pursue objectives in an organized and efficient manner, prioritize activities, and maximize team interaction to complete high quality and timely work.Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 5-years of experience working in technical theatre, arts administration and a knowledge of the Los Angeles theatre and performing arts communities at professional and educational levels. College degree in technical theatre helpful though not required. Excellent communication, project management and computer skills are required. Competencies with Japanese, Japanese American, Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and cultures are strongly suggested. Applicants must be capable of working in a collaborative team environment and working independently.
