Research – Studio Internship
Artist Studio, Highland Park, LA
Contemporary artist and CalArts professor is currently seeking a motivated and organized research intern for the summer. This is a learning internship where collaboration and your voice are encouraged. You will be working directly with the artist, compiling research for upcoming exhibitions and artworks as well as working creatively on special projects. This is a unique opportunity to learn about both the creative and operational aspects of an exceptionally busy, yet lively and collaborative artist studio.
Applicants must be proficient writers with strong organizational skills. A background in art history and/or fine arts, particularly photography and/or film, is helpful but not required. Special consideration given to applicants with grant research and writing experience. A car and laptop are preferred. Two six-hour days per week are generally required, though the studio offers flexibility with advance notice, particularly during midterms and finals.
This is an unpaid internship, but it can be completed for school credit. Lunch is provided, as is reimbursement for gas for studio errands.
