DESCRIPTION

B.R.I.D.G.E Theatre Project, an international arts organization, is seeking an experienced theatre Sound & Lighting Designer for tech rehearsals and performances by elementary and middle school youth in Lynwood, California (20 minutes south of downtown Los Angeles) for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters. Students are in grades 4-8 and will be performing in two 10-minute original plays as well as two short ensemble performance pieces. The designer will be responsible for finding sound and music cues, and running sound and lights for the tech rehearsals and performance.

REQUIREMENTS 

REQUIRED FALL DATES:

  1. Wednesday, November 1 from 1:00-5:00 – Tech (School 1)

  2. Thursday, November 2 from 2:00-6:00 – Tech (School 2)

  3. Monday, November 6 from 2:00-6:00 – Final Tech (School 1)

  4. Tuesday, November 7 from 2:00-6:00 – Final Tech (School 2)

  5. Wednesday, November 8 from 2:00-7:30 – Dress & Show (School 1)

  6. Thursday, November 9 from 2:00-7:00 – Dress & Show (School 2)

Total compensation for sound design and running tech for both schools in the fall 2017 semester is $800 + mileage. Required rehearsal and performance dates/times for the Spring 2018 semester are to be determined.The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with children, is comfortable in a fast-paced working environment, and has an interest in becoming part of an expanding global theatre organization.

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and connect young people around the globe through intensive theatre education programs that encourage self-expression, foster self-confidence, promote cultural tolerance, expand world views and perspectives, and explore solutions to community problems through the creation and exchange of original plays and theatrical productions. In addition to our domestic work in Lynwood, CA, B.R.I.D.G.E has held programs overseas in Ecuador, Nepal, and this past summer in Rwanda. Founded in 2009, our name – Building Relationships and Inspiring Dialogue through Global Exchange (B.R.I.D.G.E) – continues to guide us in our growth and expansion.
