Candidates should have knowledge and familiarity with contemporary art in Los Angeles and beyond with an interest in being an integral part of the small team running X-TRA and its nonprofit publisher Project X Foundation for Art & Criticism.
This is an administrative position that calls for a self-directed, detail-oriented, organized, and efficient person with strong communication and writing skills as well as a good visual eye. We seek someone with admin experience who can independently execute tasks and oversee interns. A background in publishing, graphic design, marketing, or nonprofit management is an asset but not required.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the distribution of the quarterly, content management for X-TRA’s website, and carrying-out campaigns to expand fundraising, advertising, and subscriptions, and distribution. They will help build promotional content for X-TRA’s programs and manage our social media accounts.
The Program Coordinator works in concert with the Executive Director, Managing Editor, and Online Editor, and oversees our interns. We’re a small organization; the Program Coordinator will also do a bit of everything.
Journal Subscriptions and Distribution: Responsible for maintaining database and executing all distribution and mailing of the quarterly as well as artist editions and store items
Online content management: Update and maintain content on X-TRAOnline.org with intern support
Social media, marketing, and fundraising campaigns: Manage X-TRA’s Social Media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and help develop meaningful content
Advertising: Manage advertising contracts, campaigns, schedules, and invoicing
Events and public programs: Help coordinate and provide onsite support
Adobe Photoshop, experience on Social Media platforms and Hootsuite, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, basic HTML, and basic video editing. Adobe InDesign, copyediting and familiarity with website analytics preferred but not required.
