City: San Marino
Position Seeking: City Council

Question 1: Please share a meaningful experience you had with art (visual, dance, drama, music, media arts) while growing up and its impact on you.

While growing up, I really enjoy live musicals. I really like the work that is put into musicals and the story is even better. My all time favorite was watching Wicked in London. Without spoiling anything, the friendship aspect of the story really touched me. The music and the story captured my heart. I started appreciating my friends a lot more because of this musical.

Question 2: What do you believe the role of City Council should be in developing and supporting the region’s arts and cultural infrastructure?

Yes I do and more specifically History. San Marino has a plethora of History in its buildings. That is why it is important to focus on historical preservation so that the next generation can still capture what San Marino once was.

Question 3: What’s your vision for the city? What role, if any, does art and culture play in advancing that vision?

In our Stoneman school, we have these beautiful murals that I would like to keep. Reason being is that this was once a school that some residents remember attending. This has a lot of sentimental value for the city

Question 4: A recent report by the Otis College of Design found that 1 in every 6 jobs in LA County supports the creative sector and economy in Los Angeles County. If elected, how will you aim to ensure the continued vitality and growth of the creative economy and the artistic community that it supports?

I'd focus on the historical preservation. During big events such as July 4, we can roll out floats that represents how San Marino came to be. Really big on the history storytelling aspect
