Archival and Web Intern

Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE)

Los Angeles, CA

The Archival and Web Intern will conduct a thorough investigation of LACE’s exhibition and events archives to augment the new website, enriching our records with images and media. Students, art historians, and the public often utilize the online LACE Archives for in depth information on the history of LACE as a prominent art institution for contemporary art in Los Angeles.

The Archival and Web Intern will also be responsible for the marketing of the LACE Archives to the general public. The intern will curate social media and marketing content based on the material found during their research. The intern will bring past exhibitions to life through outreach to a new audience and a fresh take on LACE’s history. The intern will also be responsible for addressing all archival requests from scholars and artists.

This internship is for a student who is looking to learn more about archiving at a nonprofit arts organization, and who wants to explore integrating historical legacy with contemporary practices. Students interested in archival research, contemporary art history, and marketing are encouraged to apply. Ideally the intern is proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop and/or Light Room, has experience with digital imaging/retouching and video editing software experience (Premiere, etc.). Intern must have an immaculate sense of organization and attention to detail.
