Artist in Residence - Mojave National Preserve

Mojave National Preserve Artists Foundation

Mojave National Preserve, CA

The Mojave National Preserve Artists Foundation (a non-profit, National Park Service friends group), is taking applications for the 2019 artist-in-residence program.  Deadline is April 30th.

After you complete your residency, you receive a full solo exhibit at the Desert Light Gallery, located at the visitor’s center of the Mojave National Preserve. The exhibit lasts for two months, and you get to sell you work there and on the website.

Artists are selected for the program by a jury, and then will be given a date in 2019 to display their exhibit. Each artist will have the choice of staying at a NPS-operated house, with full privacy in a remote and beautiful part of the preserve, or can opt to stay at other accommodations around the preserve. A typical stay will be for 2 to 4 weeks, but you will have 6 to 12 months total to finish your exhibit, depending on your slot in 2019.

Accepting applications for: painters, illustrators, photographers, poets, musicians, printmakers, sculptors, and mixed media.
