Artists for UCLA Swapmeet and Showcase

Los Angeles, CA
UCLA Cultural Affairs Commission

La Livin'
Bruin Plaza, UCLA
January 22, 2016
10AM-2PM

All ages.

Through an LA art swap meet and showcase, UCLA's Cultural Affairs Commission is introducing a diverse array of visual and performative art forms from the surrounding LA area to the UCLA community. This event will cultivate an environment in which culturally responsive organizations of UCLA and vendors from marginalized pockets of the surrounding LA area can collaborate to reveal what it truly means to be “LA Livin’”. We are looking for talented, professional visual and performing artists/poets from the greater L.A. community who promote cultural awareness and dialogue in regards to ongoing social issues in Los Angeles to sell their work in a swap meet vendor style. There will also be a stage for performances.

The mission of the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) is to put on quality programming with cultural, political, or social relevance that are accessible to all students. The commission is focused on “edutainment” (education + entertainment), arts activism, and student-run programs that ignite dialogue regarding current events, facilitate an exhibition of creativity, and promote cultural opportunities on campus.

Anyone interested should email [email protected] by December 5th with a personal introduction and portfolio.
