ArtsDay is an annual opportunity for Angelenos to celebrate the contributions of arts and culture to the community and to talk with their elected officials about why the arts are important to us.
Now in its fourth year, ArtsDay unites artists, audiences, and arts organizations with the leaders who represent them in City Hall, fostering stronger relationships between those crafting the vision of LA’s future and those who make it a reality.
We use ArtsDay as an opportunity to highlight the contributions of the arts to all spheres of life, from education to business, public safety to health care, transportation to innovation. We thank our elected officials for their investments in arts and culture in their communities and ask them to keep their pledges to foster healthy, vibrant, and prosperous communities that include the arts.

How to Participate on Tuesday, April 14
Join us for Breakfast, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Arts for LA hosts a continental breakfast reception in the City Hall Rotunda prior to the morning's city council meeting. This is a great opportunity to see old friends and make new ones in the arts and culture communities througout Los Angeles!
Attend the City Council Meeting, 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
One of the hallmarks of ArtsDay is the visual show of support by the arts and culture community during the day's City Council meeting. Last year nearly 400 advocates joined us in the John Ferraro City Council Chambers, most of them wearing our iconic red "Creative Capital" t-shirts designed by a local artist. The Council Meeting is a singular opportunity for our community, often isolated by the vast geography of Los Angeles, to feel connected not only to one another, but to the city's elected leadership.
Featured guests & performers include:
Aloe Blacc, Grammy-nominated artist, co-founder Artivist Entertainment
Luis J. Rodriguez, Los Angeles Poet Laureate
James W. Schultz, Director, Satellite Development Center, Boeing Space & Intelligence Systems
Sofia Klatzker, Executive Director, Arts for LA
Get Lit Players, Student spoken-word poetry performers
Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Ramon C. Cortines High School of Visual & Performing Arts
The first 250 attendees are guaranteed an ArtsDay 2015 t-shirt!
