The Ojai Playwrights Conference has existed for over 20 years developing unproduced socio-political plays of artistic excellence from diverse writers both emerging and established. OPC is seeking an Auction Manager for part-time employment between February 15 and May 15, 2019. The Auction Manager will support the Managing Director (MD) in planning and organization of the online benefit auction process, with approval of Artistic Director. This includes pursuing auction items and coordinating auction items sourced by the board and other staff. The Auction Manager will deal directly with CharityBuzz or other online service to set up and manage online auction, under supervision of MD. The Auction Manager will fulfill bidder/donor requests relating to setting up experience packages, provide concierge services to those who wanted it. The Auction Manager will collect and process all pledges and payments in a timely manner. The Auction Manager will support the Marketing Director in Benefit printed program production and proofing. The Auction Manager will help source vendors, secure approvals, track sales, provide follow up for donors and winning bidders.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and writing skills, be extremely well organized, versatile, and adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines with grace. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is building a portfolio of clients and contacts. A desire to work alongside a passionate and small staff working collectively to support the development of vital and important plays is required.

 

Compensation:

This is a part-time, independent contractor position. The Auction Manager will receive a stipend of $500. The position is mostly work-from-home, with regular phone and occasional in-person meetings. The Auction Manager is required to attend the spring Benefit Gala on May 4, 2019 and the three days prior to assist in setup. OPC will provide food and lodging when in Ojai.
