The 826LA Book Publication and Design Intern will design publications to inspire Los Angeles students to write and share their stories. Projects will include designing and producing books of student writing, outreach tools and, possibly, product design. This position will also work closely with the English Language Learners Camp in designing materials for the lesson plans as well as final publications. With the Designer, this position will focus on typographic excellence and design solutions for programmatic needs. This collaboration will enable the Book Publication and Design Intern to see their work go into production through a hands-on experience that builds crucial skills and supports 826LA’s mission.
Familiarity with Wordpress/HTML a plus.
Desire to work in an organization with a strong spirit of social justice.
Completion of a criminal background check, administered by 826LA.
Willingness to be an ambassador for 826LA's mission.
Ability to work on deadlines.
The following skills and experiences are desired, but not required:
Experience working with children in professional setting.
Access to car.
Spanish language proficiency a plus!
