ABOUT BOSTON COURT PASADENA
Boston Court Pasadena is a nonprofit performing arts center primarily dedicated to developing and producing adventurous new work, significantly re-envisioned classics, and nurturing both emerging and established artists across all art forms. Boston Court strives to create art that thrills, engages, moves and sustains people in order to deepen empathy, community, and provoke change. Founded in 2003 by philanthropist Z. Clark Branson and producing director Eileen T’Kaye, Boston Court features an intimate facility designed to bring audiences and artists closer together. The 80-seat Marjorie Branson Performance Space and the 99-seat Main Stage serve as homes for Boston Court's season of daring, adventurous theatre and its richly diverse music series. Boston Court is also the home of an annual New Play Reading Festival, an upcoming new composer initiative, multiple community events and partnerships, as well as rotating visual art exhibits. Boston Court theatre productions have been seen in New York City, Boston, Houston, and Malibu, and have won countless Ovation Awards, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, and many others.
POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the Managing Director, Artistic Director(s) and Staff of Boston Court Pasadena by maintaining and overseeing organization’s operations and provides particular leadership in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, and Production.
Essential Functions:
Manages and maintains Human Resources benefits and Employee Handbook
Handles weekly payroll reporting and timekeeping procedures
Manages expense tracking and bill payments within Quickbooks
Coordinates and ensures compliance with all trainings, certifications as required by State and Federal laws.
Working with Technical/Facilities Director and Production Manager, oversees all Operations aspects for Boston Court including rentals, music events, National Theatre Live screenings, workshops, readings, and plays.
Negotiates and administers all operations contracts and deal-memos for Boston Court facility.
In conjunction with Production Manager, negotiates and administers all contracts programming related personnel: directors, designers, choreographers, actors, producers, stage management, running crews, artists, etc.
Facilitates communications with Actor’s Equity Association in conjunction with Managing Director
Assists in coordinating a prompt response to workplace accidents, accident reporting and workers’ compensation communication.
Ensures that all facilities are operated and maintained in a cost-effective and safe condition, in accordance with the approved BC budget and various manufacturer’s recommendations.
Works directly with the City of Pasadena departments, including, but not limited to: police, fire, parking, engineering, inspections, and health
In conjunction with Technical/Facilities Director, oversees and ensures that all events held at the Boston Court abide by all local and national codes, including, but not limited to: fire, electrical, health, ADA, and Covid-19.
Oversees all internal events such as tech BBQ, Birthday’s, Opening Night, Closing Night & Other Parties as needed
Prepares and oversees program budgets in collaboration with staff, based on a detailed analysis of anticipated production and operations for BCPAC
