The Open Arts & Music Festival (OAM) is a free, all-day event in Downtown Glendale on September 17, 2016, featuring music, artists, food, drinks, activities for children, and businesses partners in the City of Glendale and outlying areas.
Our Call for Artists is for our Open Arts & Music Festival, which will host an Arts Market. Unlike a traditional gallery, our Arts Market will be geared toward artists and arts organizations interested in providing their art as well as an arts experience - like a talk, lecture, workshop, demonstration, etc. The Arts Market application will jury vendor proposals, based off the criteria we mention in our form.
Should an artist be chosen from our jurying process, they will be responsible for setting up their own booth for their appropriate arts experience/engagement.
Formats for art will be subject to the artists' discretion if and when they are chosen to host a booth at the Arts Market.
Required documents and any other follow up information will be sent directly to the artist/contact upon passing the juried process.
We are currently accepting Arts Market applications on a rolling basis.
Our focus for the Arts Market at OAM is to highlight inspiring artists and arts organizations based in the greater LA area. In addition to featuring various art projects and practices, Arts Market vendors are encouraged to offer a minimum of one (1): all- ages workshop, intimate engagement (such as a lecture or behind-the- scenes talk), and/or hands-on activity throughout the day.
We are seeking projects and practices that emphasize localized and ethical production processes; experiment with new ways of making; open up conversations and concerns in the arts; feature pieces/workshops that are fairly priced for all income brackets; and demonstrate a creative approach to on-site engagements.
Bilingual or multilingual vendors are especially encouraged to apply.
