INTEGR-ALL
Los Angeles, CA
Call for Artists: INTEGR-ALL
The goal of arts integration is to increase knowledge of a general subject area while concurrently fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of the fine and performing arts. For the purpose of INTEGR-ALL, the general subject is our social culture. Specifically, we will be focusing on the Arts-Cultura portion of art integration.
Arts-Cultura - Art connects individuals' "culture" to collective community " cultures" to more structured racial/national "Cultures" to the ultimate universal "Culture." It is through this interplay that art encourages individuals to take risks, think critically, and make meaning.
INTEGR-ALL is inclusive of all artists. The purpose of this exhibition is to bridge social and cultural gaps, as ONE ONE SIX TWO believes we are all integral for one another, whether we know it, acknowledge it, or not. Works must represent one (minimum) cultural relationship, whether through personal cultures (aspect of selves one cannot change such as race or disabilities etc.), social cultures (areas of interest, relationships etc.), or human cultures (biological aspects such as species or behavior).
INTEGR-ALL is looking for works that include 2 or more items being brought together in the piece.
SUBMISSION RULES:
1- Artists of all levels of skill are welcome to submit! ONE ONE SIX TWO is proud to support emerging, seasoned, and veteran artists.
2- Artists may submit up to 4 pieces of any variety to be considered, though all submissions may not get accepted into the show. Works are not limited to any medium (painting, photography, music, digital media, poetry, mixed-media, sculpture, fashion, jewelry, makeup, body paint, etc). Performances, music, and video are also welcome and encouraged for the evening’s entertainment selection.
3- Submitted work MUST be on theme. Work MUST include 2+ mediums, tools, surfaces, subjects, sounds, images, textures, or fabrics, etc.
Works must represent one (minimum) cultural relationship. (See above.)
4- Each submitted piece MUST include a brief description (Title/Size/Year/Medium) and a statement about how it reflects the theme.

6- Submissions are free, however: there is a $10 fee per piece accepted into the show. This fee helps cover staffing and event costs, wall repairs, repainting, etc (Performance pieces, readings, dances, and certain sculpture submissions are not included.)
