CALL TO ARTISTS: Do you have a box of old 35mm slides that you do not know what to do with? Are you still making slide because you believe they are making a comeback? If so, this call is for you. During the month of December we will host our very first "35mm Slide Show". This is an international call to artists over the age of 18, open to all disciplines with no theme. The only stipulation is all works must be presented on 35mm slide to be displayed on a rotating projector during the month of December. All artwork submitted must not infringe upon any copyright or the rights of any person.
ABOUT US: Located at 1300 Gendy Street, the FWCAC is part of the most architecturally significant museum districts in the United States. The striking modern Herbert Bayer building (with a later O’Neil Ford addition) opened to the public in 1954 as home to one of the most prestigious and oldest collecting organizations in the state of Texas, the Modern Museum of Fort Worth. When, in 2002, the Modern moved down the street, the Fort Worth Community Arts Center opened. The building has exhibited world class art and supported the performing arts for more than half a century. The Arts Council manages the FWCAC, provides leadership and funding to local arts organizations through our competitive Grants Program and administers the Fort Worth Public Art program.
HOW TO APPLY
SUBMISSION: Work will be selected from images submitted only through the gallery’s online submission. $10 submission fee for up to five pieces. Images must be JPEGs with minimum width/height of 800 pixels, maximum size as 3MB. Do not use spaces or special characters ([email protected]$, etc) in image file names. FWCAC reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work, or incomplete submission.
PRESENTATION: All slides must be labeled with artist’s “name”, “title”, “front” and “top” on the front of the slide.
SALES: If the piece represented in the slide is for sale, please make note of it in the submission form. 25% of proceeds from sales will go to FWCAC and the remainder to the artists.
RECEIVING: Slides must be received no tater then November 26, 2017. Substitutions and late arriving slides will not be exhibited. Slides must remain for the duration of exhibition.
DEADLINE: All applications must be submitted before midnight (CMT) on November 1, 2017. FWCAC will notify accepted applicants only by November 10th 1, 2017.
SHIPMENT: If you wish to have your slides returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. If a self-addressed stamped envelope is not included, slides will not be returned
· November 1, 2017 - Deadline for submission
· November 10, 2017 - Notifications emailed to artists
· November 11 - November 26, 2017 – Slides must arrive
· December 1, 2017 - Opening Reception, 6 -9 pm
· December 29, 2017 - Closing
· December 30, 2017 - Show ends, slides repacked and returned
USE OF IMAGES: Any image submitted may be used for non-commercial, marketing or promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.
