Brushstrokes 2019A California-wide Juried Exhibition
at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art
September 6—October 27, 2019 Opening Reception: Friday, September 6, 6-9 PM
Entry Deadline: 5 PM on May 15, 2019
Brushstrokes 2019 is a non-themed biennial exhibition at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art representing a wide range of artistic expression in painting.
Juror: Jerry McLaughlin
Jerry McLaughlin has a wide reputation for his distinguished art and his dynamic teaching abilities. His popular book, Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, Concepts & Conversations, and the workshops he conducts around the world, have inspired new creativity. McLaughlin holds a Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Teaching Certificate from the University of Washington. He has many educational publications and multiple teaching awards to his credit. About painting, he says, “There is something so amazing about taking feelings, thoughts, ideas, and moods—these complex, intangible, amorphous things that are so real to us and live so palpably inside us—and translating those onto a surface, something other people can see and experience.” He is based in Oakland, California.
