Arts for LA’s ACTIVATE Advocacy Leadership Initiative is approaching its mid-point as it empowers arts education advocates in our community. Participants just finished their third and fourth sessions on education policy, decision-making, understanding data, and mapping community resources.

In conjunction with this year's National Arts Advocacy Day, Center Theatre Group is encouraging artists and arts lovers to voice their support for arts and culture online.  Arts for LA encourages you to participate in this local effort as part of the national movement to support arts and culture in our communities.

It's easy to participate! 

This year’s ArtsDay will be held April 11 at Los Angeles City Hall! Please join us for what promises to be a wonderful celebration of arts and culture with our city’s elected leaders.

As the Creative Capital of the United States, L.A.'s greatest export is culture. The creative economy is the 4th largest employment cluster (of 66) and accounts for 1 in 8 jobs in the County.

The Herb Alpert Foundation announced it would double its end of year giving to Arts for LA this year if Arts for LA managed to complete an ambitious 2:1 match of money raised from our supporters.

Arts for LA is pleased to announce two important dates for the upcoming advocacy year. Please mark your calendars:

Four representatives of Arts for LA (AFLA) will participate in the annual Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Convention, to be held this month in Pittsburgh. Danielle Brazell is proud to be a featured speaker at this year’s Town Hall event, where she’ll talk about ways the arts community can engage more deeply with members of communities across America.

If you live or work in the City of Los Angeles, please add your voice to the chorus of “Thank yous” headed to City Hall and the Mayor’s office.

Arts for LA is coordinating the delivery of emails to each city councilmember and the Mayor as part of our work on ArtsDay, to be held April 17 at Los Angeles City Hall.
