The Board of Directors of Arts for LA is pleased to announce that Sofia Klatzker will be its new Executive Director, beginning in March 2015.  She will lead the executive management team and work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policy and strategic initiatives and to guide our county, state, and nation-wide arts advocacy efforts.

Danielle BrazellArts for LA is pleased to announce Executive Director Danielle Brazell has been nominated by Mayor Eric Garcetti to serve as the new general manager of the Cultural Affairs Department of the City of Los Angeles. Her work with the department will begin pending confirmation by the Los Angeles City Council.

She was selected from a very competitive pool of applicants from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission's summer internship program, which hired one hundred and twenty-two interns this summer.

DCA logoOn April 30, Arts for LA’s Executive Director Danielle Brazell issued a letter to the Honorable Mr. Paul Krekorian, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Los Angeles City Council.  The full text of the letter follows.  Arts for LA will continue to monitor the city's budget process and update our advocates on its status whenever possible.

Candidate ForumOn Wednesday, April 30, Arts for LA will host the Culture & Creativity Candidate Forum for Los Angeles County Supervisor Candidates in the Third District.  The event will take place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in the Bing Theater at 7:15 p.m.  Dr. Franklin J. Gilliam, Dean of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and Professor of Public Policy and Political Science, will moderate.
