Arts for LA is pleased to announce Executive Director Danielle Brazell has been nominated by Mayor Eric Garcetti to serve as the new general manager of the Cultural Affairs Department of the City of Los Angeles. Her work with the department will begin pending confirmation by the Los Angeles City Council.

On April 30, Arts for LA’s Executive Director Danielle Brazell issued a letter to the Honorable Mr. Paul Krekorian, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Los Angeles City Council.  The full text of the letter follows.  Arts for LA will continue to monitor the city's budget process and update our advocates on its status whenever possible.

Arts for LA Advocacy Field Manager Abe Flores has accepted a position with Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading arts advocacy organization headquartered in Washington, DC.

The LAUSD Board of Education approved by a 5-2 vote a resolution to bolster district support for arts education as an extension of last year’s “Arts at the Core” resolution.

Four representatives of Arts for LA (AFLA) will participate in the annual Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Convention, to be held this month in Pittsburgh. Danielle Brazell is proud to be a featured speaker at this year’s Town Hall event, where she’ll talk about ways the arts community can engage more deeply with members of communities across America.

On Tuesday night, Arts for LA's Executive Director Danielle Brazell participated in a radio talk show panel exploring issues related to arts education.

The Los Angeles City Council moved one step closer to passing an official resolution in support of AB 580, the California Assembly bill that would fund the California Arts Council with $75 million dollars for the next fiscal year.
