Arts for LA welcomes Amy Sauceda to our staff. Amy will work as the communications and research intern helping Charlie Jensen with communications and event management. She was selected from a very competitive pool of applicants from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission's summer internship program, which hired one hundred and twenty-two interns this summer. 

Nonprofit arts organizations in Los Angeles County are a vibrant part of the region’s cultural offerings, but a new report published by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission shows these organizations are also significant regional employers, providing nearly $267 million in full time equivalent salaries to 4,650 workers.

Arts education in Los Angeles County was celebrated last month on the lot of Paramount Pictures in the Paramount Theatre.

Arts Tune-Up is a free one-day event offering expert advice, consultation, and information to individual artists and small budget arts organizations looking to gain insight on a variety of topics ranging from arts education, marketing and publicity, to community and cultural outreach, fundraising, and health insurance. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

California is perched on the edge of an unprecedented transformation of our education system. Over the next year, every school will receive more funding to support student success, but schools will need to hear from you about how to best use this money.

As a part of its ongoing commitment to ensure all K-12 students receive quality arts education, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission seeks to identify and map the work of artists and arts organizations in public schools in the county. The Commission requests your help to produce an accurate, county-wide snapshot showing where artists, arts organizations, and cultural institutions support public education. 

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission and Arts for LA have been identified as one of two major cultural organizations serving Los Angeles County by the World Cities Cultural Forum, an international body devoted to highlighting and exploring cultural policy and the impact of arts and culture around the world in order to compare information on a city-by-city basis.

Arts for LA is pleased to partner with the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and its arts education initiative, Arts for All, for a lively Twitter Party on the topic of creativity and your children!  The party will kick off at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, in conjunction with American Education Week.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission has announced $4,318,000 in two-year grants to 194 nonprofit arts organizations through its Organizational Grant Program (OGP). The current allocation represents a $200,000 increase in funding from the previous grant cycle and provides support to ensure arts organizations continue to provide cultural services to the diverse population that comprises Los Angeles County.
