Arts for LA will share its annual school district candidate survey results with the California Alliance for Arts Education as part of that organization's statewide movement to get candidates to provide clarity on their arts education philosophies, priorities, and perspectives.

Arts for LA announces its endorsement of three pieces of legislation, all supporting access to arts and arts education, appearing on the November ballot in Los Angeles County. Each endorsement is supported by the Arts & Culture Framework of Los Angeles County, which serves as the region’s guide to greater support for arts, culture, and arts education.

Arts for LA is surveying candidates for Long Beach City Council, Culver City City Council and Long Beach Unified School District prior to the April 10th, 2012 local elections.  All candidates have been contacted and encouraged to complete a brief survey.  Results will be posted at ArtsforLA.org/spring-2012-candidate-surveys as they are submitted.  Candidate

Ben Donenberg, Founder and Executive Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, attended an informal event with Congressman Xavier Becerra, who sits on the influential "Super Committee," the Joint Selection Committee on Deficit Reduction.
