Choreographer/Teaching Artist
Position Overview
This is a project-based position which will take on the role of teaching artist/choreographer. This person will create choreography for, and with students singing and dancing their roles in a high school/middle school Broadway Revue.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, choreograph, and teach students for a Broadway Revue Show
- Communicate effectively with team, performers and parents
- Develop effective and efficient rehearsal schedules
Qualifications
Experience in teaching middle and high school students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including adoption of appropriate pedagogical strategies for diverse populations.
Instructor must have experience in dance teaching and performance, Strong classroom management skills, ability to build rapport with students, and strong leadership qualities.
Duration
4 months, January – April 2018
Student rehearsals (music, choreo, & drama)
Monday – Thursday through March,
Monday - Friday in April: 3:15 – 6:00
2 Saturdays in April: 9 am – 5 pm
Performance dates: April 26 - 28
