The City of Laguna Niguel has released the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Design, Fabrication, and Installation of a Public Art Sculpture for the new Crown Valley Community Center, located at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA. Currently, the Crown Valley Community Center is under construction with a tentative grand opening scheduled around May 2020. Once completed, the Public Art Sculpture will add to the prestige of the new building and engage the community in imaginative interaction and reflection.
Established artists and/or teams (comprised of multiple artists or artists and non-artists) are encouraged to submit a proposal for a permanent, exterior Public Art Sculpture by the RFP Due Date on November 4, 2019 at 3pm PST.
The City Council will award the project at the December 17, 2019 City Council Meeting. Installation of the Public Art Sculpture can begin in January 2020 (specific date TBD). Installation must be completed before April 1, 2020.
The budget for any submitted proposal will not exceed $100,000 and will be paid in phases: 30% after the Award by City Council; 40% after Fabrication is completed; 25% after Installation is completed; and, 5% once thirty (30) days have passed after the Installation date.
