Bonhams are currently looking for a Crew Member to fulfill both portering and warehouse duties in our Los Angeles saleroom. This role plays a key part in facilitating our busy auction schedule. You will liaise closely with all specialist departments in receiving consignments at time of arrival until they are released to clients or buyers.
This position is responsible for the proper and safe storage and efficient movement of all property while maintaining warehouse procedures and organizational standards. Property movement includes but is not limited to: unloading and unpacking of incoming consignments, setup and takedown of antique & modern furniture for exhibition; installation and de-installation of fine art; moving and preparing items for photography; setting-up auctions, clinics & special events; assisting clients with pick-up and delivery of items.
This physically demanding role requires enthusiasm, a flexible and creative approach as well as excellent customer service skills to work with various departments and as part of the team within our saleroom. Ideal candidates will have aspirations to be in this industry and some knowledge of arts and antiques.
