The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) cultural grants program is now accepting applications from non-profit arts organizations (and social service nonprofits partnering with arts organizations) seeking support for projects taking place between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

Please note the Grants Administration Division uses an online grants submission system and recommends that applicants carefully read through the guidelines and attend a webinar or in-person workshop before submitting an application.  

As a reminder, odd-numbered application years (such as this year’s cycle), are the years in which applicants in Business Education/Advocacy for the Arts, Culture/History, Design/Visual Arts, Literature, Media, Outdoor Festivals/Parades, and Traditional/Folk arts will need to apply in order to remain on a two-year application cycle.

Applicants in Dance, Multi-Disciplinary Arts, Music, and Theatre who received grants resulting from the previous application review (i.e. proposals that were submitted in August 2018) will have their submissions held over for 2020-21 pending the availability of City funds and submission of a Second Year Score Renewal Form. If you are a new applicant in one of these performing arts disciplines and are seeking a grant for 2020-21, please call DCA’s Grants Administration Division—your proposal may be accepted “off-cycle” for consideration in a one-year mixed category to be reviewed by a mixed-discipline panel.

The deadline to submit a grant application to DCA is August 30, 2019.
