Pacific Symphony, one of the largest and most important cultural organizations in the region, seeks a Director of Communications. 

The ideal candidate will be a public relations professional who possesses a combination of deep experience with long-established methodologies in working with traditional media AND a complete mastery of the tools necessary to communicate effectively through the emerging media of the 21st century. 

The position will have the responsibility of crafting a communications program that is symbiotic with Pacific Symphony's extensive marketing and sales strategies and timetables, and that goes beyond simple ad hoc social media tactics in favor of a comprehensive, well-organized and expertly-executed strategic approach to meet the total communications needs of the organization. 

The position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and supervises four staff members. 

Experience in the field of performing arts communications, as well as knowledge of/affinity for classical music are highly desirable.  The search is being conducted on behalf of Pacific Symphony by Arts Orange County, the nonprofit local arts agency.
