DESCRIPTION
The Education and Community Engagement Intern will work closely with the Associate Director of Education & Community Engagement to produce and present programs for the community both at the Music Center and throughout LA County. The intern will complete demographic and geographic analysis on community and school partners, research and create educational materials for the 2018/19 season, perform research for an upcoming Festival, and develop a promotional strategy for the Community Circle. The intern will also be an integral team member of our intensive youth Opera Camp. Schedule to include some nights and weekends.
REQUIREMENTS
The intern should have an interest in opera and/or music. S/he should be a strong writer who enjoys performing research and has a keen attention to detail. Experience in desktop publishing is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
Internship positions are open to currently enrolled undergraduate college students who
- Are currently enrolled as undergraduates, including students enrolled in associate’s degree (community college) programs.
- Reside or attend college in Los Angeles County
- Have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2018 or will complete their undergraduate degree between May 1-September 1, 2018
- Are able to legally work within the United States
