The nonprofit City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts Event Outreach and Marketing Intern summer internship opening.

This internship is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. 179 undergraduate interns will participate in the program this year at 127 performing, presenting, and literary nonprofit arts organizations and municipal arts agencies throughout LA County. In addition to their full-time 10 week paid internship, interns will participate in educational events as part of the program, which is funded by the Getty Foundation. The educational events are designed to provide interns with a broader perspective of the vibrant arts and cultural landscape of the County. City Hearts provides the highest quality arts education and performance experiences to the most-at-risk youth in economically distressed neighborhoods of Los Angeles, enhancing self-esteem, literacy, social and academic skills and creativity, while strengthening the health and vitality of our community. Taught by professional artists, classes are conducted during and after school at 11 underserved Charter/Title 1 public school sites, and 1 transitional housing center.

DESCRIPTION

The Event Outreach and Marketing Intern will be a key member of City Hearts outreach efforts to increase community support and opportunities for the students City Hearts serves. The intern will help coordinate City Hearts annual FRESH FOCUS Professional and Student Art Auction, communicating with professional artists and other stakeholders; creating marketing and outreach materials; and implementing an expanded communication plan, using both digital and non-digital means.

 

RATE

$13.25/Hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The intern should:

  • Be familiar with social media platforms;
  • Have experience with MS Office and photo editing;
  • Able to create content and update website;
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Possess an interest in both administrative and program activities.

Familiarity with planning community and student events is a plus. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is inspired by the City Hearts' mission and shares our passion for arts education for at-risk youth.
