  • Create and adhere to project schedules for all upcoming exhibitions
  • Work with Exhibitions Curator in maintaining exhibition-related files including exhibition calendar, budgets, and checklists
  • Draft contracts and MOUs
  • Create loan documents and maintain contact with lenders of artworks
  • With Exhibitions Curator, schedule and manage exhibition planning meetings with artists and guest curators
  • Devise and manage exhibition installation schedules including scheduling of preparators, volunteers, and artists
  • Hire and supervise temporary preparator staff
  • Manage logistics of artwork transport and packing & storage of artworks
  • Produce incoming/outgoing condition reports
  • Provide insurance company with necessary documents relating to fine art insurance
  • Assess installation needs including supplies, displays, equipment and make appropriate purchases
  • Maintain storage areas for exhibition supplies and furniture, including off-site storage units
  • Assist with editing gallery texts as needed, including wall labels and didactic panels
  • With Exhibitions Curator, oversee production of gallery texts and printed collateral
  • Coordinate photo documentation of exhibitions and maintain exhibition image archive
  • Maintain consistent inspection of galleries and maintenance of artworks while on display
  • Monitor museum security system
  • Oversee maintenance of general museum facilities including cleaning staff
  • Train museum staff on opening/closing procedures of building and galleries
  • Ensure fire codes and exits are upheld


  • Be available for occasional evening and weekend work, including select public programs, the museum’s annual gala, and exhibition opening receptions


  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Intermediate ability in fabrication, carpentry, and audiovisual skills preferred
  • Ability to plan for multiple team members and delegate tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including communicating ideas to a group
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Team-oriented and comfortable working in a small organization and shared office space, superior interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and solution-oriented approach
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Heavy lifting required occasionally
  • Awareness of arts and culture in Los Angeles is a plus
